D.I. Frame analysis

  This point of view shot shows Phyllis in power throguh multiple methods. First, she's shot from below in walters perspective, making her appear large and dominating the frame. She's also the only person in the frame, allowing her to be the sole focus. She also has power over Walter in another way in this scene; the power of attraction. When this film was made, it was very tabboo for a woman to wear anything revleaing in any form, much more so to wear nothing but a towel. Phyllis is portrayed as a beutiful woman- a black widow- and her victum is Walter. Outside of just what she is wearing, or in this case is not, she also is lit to make her features appear softer. She has what looks like a halo along with all that- giving her an angelic appearence- with her face also mostly lit which is unlike other scenes. Here, we see a soft, gentle Phyllis as opposed to the normal scheming character we see through the rest of the film. Size is used regularly in many films to show the power ...

Minority Report Frame Analysis

In this shot we can see Anderton in a different perspective and situation from the start of the film. While towards the beginning we see him solving a murder and saving a life, here we see him buying drugs to help him make it through his night. Just a scene before, he was putting pieces together to find a to-be murderer and saved the murderer's wife, while here he's just walked through dark alleys and abandoned buildings late at night to go meet with a dealer. In the previous scene the lighting was light, and futureistic. Everything looked clean and ready for use, where in this shot we can see the grit and pores of a darkly lit face. Anderton went from an upstanding hero to a petty criminal, and we can see this in the lighting. In previous scenes he was a literally bright figure, at the center of every shot, but now he's in shadow and to the very left of the screen. Recent Films I've Seen

 Recently I've actially been watching a lot of movies, mostly with my dad. Over the summer I've seen Airplane! which is an amazingly funny movie which I would reccomend to anyone. I've also watched the original Starwars trilogy and the prequals with riff tracks, made by the same people who do MST3K.
